Criminal Law Innovation Program
CLIP (Criminal Law Innovation Program) is a program that empowers public defenders to get access to the latest technology in video evidence for the most challenging cases that need a little push.
“I couldn’t hear it but computer transcription picked it up.”
The officer had discussed holding my client at gunpoint prior to making contact. I couldn’t hear it but computer transcription picked it up.
— Elizabeth D. Cadiz, Chief Deputy Public Defender, Aurora, CO
What is CLIP?
At Reduct, we believe that the quality of a criminal defense should never be limited by technical barriers. Every person is entitled to a vigorous defense, but in an era of "discovery by a thousand gigabytes," technology can often become a hurdle rather than a tool.
CLIP is a partnership where Reduct embeds our engineering team into criminal defense cases to ensure that your ability to represent your client is never sidelined by voluminous data or technical limitations.
Why we started CLIP
We are engineers and former public defense advocates who believe that high-tech tools shouldn't be reserved for the prosecution. We participate in these cases because we are committed to the defense community and because seeing our work translate into real-life representation is why we build Reduct.
The partnership
Participating firms receive complimentary, full-scale access to Reduct and a dedicated engineering "strike team." We don't just give you the tool, we build the feature you need to win your case in real-time.
Your commitment
How to partner with us
We select a limited number of cases annually, prioritizing those with significant technical hurdles, voluminous digital discovery, and/or complex audio and video evidence.
Note: You do not need to be an existing Reduct customer to apply for CLIP
