Reduct.Video at the 2026 Summer Public Defense Conference

A massive thank you to Sheila Rainville, Investigator at the Barrow County Public Defender’s Office, for inviting us to present. And a heartfelt thank you to Jo-Anna Zackery for the hospitality that made us feel like part of the GPDC family from the moment we arrived.
Standing in the room
There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over a room full of people who’ve dedicated their careers to defending the most vulnerable members of their communities. We felt it in Athens.

Georgia’s public defenders represent roughly 85% of the state’s criminal defendants, often with more cases and less time than any office should reasonably have to manage. Hearing those stories firsthand, not as statistics but as the daily reality of the people in that room, was humbling. It’s also why we do this work.
Reduct is built to help defenders spend less time on hours of bodycam footage, jail calls, and surveillance video, and more time on the work that needs a person’s compassion, courage, and sound judgment: talking to clients, building strategy, standing up in court. Every conversation we had in Athens, whether about discovery volume, translation needs, or the realities of a one-investigator office, sharpened that focus.
Thank you
We’re grateful to Sheila, to Jo-Anna, and to everyone at GPDC who welcomed us and let us play a small part in the vital work Georgia’s public defenders do every day.
TALK TO A PUBLIC DEFENDER
We're on your team

We believe the people building tools for defenders should understand what it actually takes to be one. So we have former public defenders helping us build the product. Have a question about whether Reduct fits your office? We’d love to talk to you.
